Biography

Juliana Day (whistles/recorders/vocals), Manon McCoy (whistles/flute/vocals), and Johnny Keating (guitar/vocals)

 

Shivelights are a contemporary folk fusion band based in Sheffield, UK; they create fresh arrangements of traditional and original tunes with influences from UK and Irish folk, poetry, minimalism, contemporary western classical and world music. 

 

This collective consists of composer, writer and performers drawing together their different creative influences. The combination of their vastly different musical backgrounds enables them to take the genre in a unique and exciting direction.

 

They have released three singles, and have played at venues such as Celtic Connections festival in Glasgow, Cafe #9, Regather Works, The Greystones and Hatch, and are booked to play at Folk Forest Festival next year. They have supported acts such as Peter Broderick, The Shackleton Trio, Rhiannon Scutt and Frogbelly and Symphony.
